Paella is a Spanish dish and is popular in the world. Most people think that paella is the name of the pan that it's cooked in, and others think that it's a regional specialty. the reality is, nobody knows needless to say because there are numerous versions.



What is paella and what are its variations?



Paella may be a rice dish mainly made with rice, olive oil, saffron, vegetables, and seafood. The dish has only been around since the 18th century. made with chicken or rabbit meat and several sorts of beans.


There are many various ways to form Paella. Some recipes include chicken or rabbit, like Paella Valenciana and it's the foremost prominent out of the various modifications of the dish. There are other paellas made with beef or pork, mussels, shrimps, and sausage as traditional Paella. One of the main ingredients in Paella is saffron which provides it a yellow tint and a particular flavor that cannot be replicated by anything.



Where Paella may be cooked? 


Paella has a special pan that should be cooked which is called a paellera. it's an enormous steel pan that has two side handles. However, if you don’t have this paellera, you can use any flat, broad, and shallow thin metal pan.


The ideal size when cooking for four people use a pan of 45 cm, whereas, for 6 people, uses one of 48 cm.

What are the ingredients for Paella?

 

  • 4 chicken thighs with legs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 400 g arborio rice or bomba rice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Saffron powder or pistil (at 0.5 g)
  • 400 ml chicken broth, shellfish broth 
  • 1 red pepper
  • 3 chorizo ​​sausages diced
  • 400 g fresh mussels
  • 200 g green peas
  • 3 tablespoon Olive oil




Garnish:


  • 400 g fresh shrimp, with peel
  • 2 green onions, in thin slices
  • 2 teaspoons chives, finely chopped



How to prepare Paella?


  • Salt the chicken thighs.
  • Put rice, salt, olive oil, and saffron in an ovenproof dish. 
  • Pour on the broth, stir and stick the chicken thighs down.
  • Put the oven on full steam and cook for about 30 minutes from the time the oven is hot.
  • Cut the peppers into pieces and cut the sausage into slices.
  • Brush the mussels clean and discard those that do not close when you tap the shell.
  • Place the mussels in a small oven dish that fits next to the other in the oven.
  • Take the paella form out of the oven and add the peppers, sausages, and green peas.
  • Put back in the oven and place the mussel mold next to it.
  • Steam everything for a few minutes until the mussels open.


How to serve our dish Paella?


  • Decorate the paella with mussels, fresh prawns, onion slices, and chives.
  • Serve immediately.
