- Paella is a rice dish mainly made with rice, olive oil, saffron, vegetables, and seafood. The dish has only been around since the 18th century.

- There are many different ingredients to make Paella. Some recipes include chicken or rabbit such as Paella Valenciana and it is the most prominent out of the numerous modifications of the dish. There are other paellas made with beef or pork, mussels, shrimps, and sausage.
- One of the major ingredients in Paella is saffron which gives it a yellow tint and a distinctive flavor that can't be replicated by anything else.
Where do we cook the Paella?
- Paella has a special pan that should be cooked in and is known as paellera. It is a big steel pan that has two side handles. However, if you don't have this paellera, the original dish, you can use any flat, broad, or shallow thin metal pan.
- The ideal size when cooking for four people use a pan of 45 cm, whereas, for six people, use one of 48 cm.

What is the Paella Valenciana Recipe?
What ingredients do we need to prepare Paella Valenciana?
- 1 chicken 1.2 kg
- 400 g of clams
- 12 large peeled shrimp
- 500 g of rice
- 250 g of bacon
- 2 small red peppers
- 3 large tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- sweet pepper powder
- 2 doses of saffron
- 1 l of chicken broth
- 1 lemon
- 9 tablespoon olive oil
- salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon pepper
What steps to follow to prepare Paella Valenciana?
1. Preheat the oven to 240°C
3. Boil the tomatoes for 1 min, then cool them and peel them. Open them in half, and remove the seeds. Cut the tomato halves into pieces of about 2 cm. Peel and chop the onion and garlic.
4. Cut the chicken into pieces and the bacon into cubes of 3 cm. Brown everything in a large pan with 7 tablespoons of olive oil. Then add the onion and garlic, and sauté for 2 minutes. Season to your liking.
5. Stir in the tomatoes and peppers, sauté for a while, then add the herbs and rice. Pour in the broth so that the rice is completely covered. Leave it to cook for 25 minutes over low heat without stirring.
6. Wash the clams with water.
7. Saute the clams in the remaining olive oil until the shells open. Add the clams and shrimps to the rice, and cook your paella Valenciana for 5 minutes over low heat.
8. when cooked leave to rest for 5 minutes
