Basbousa, moreover, is considered a type of dessert that is easy to prepare and can be prepared without spending a lot of time and with very simple ingredients.

  • Basbousa can be prepared very easily through the use of simple ingredients and these ingredients help in making the best mixture of distinct Basbousa. It is an easy-to-prepare recipe that is easy to make in the oven at home, and here comes the most important information about the ingredients of the recipe.

  • Three cups of semolina flour.
  • A big glass of milk.

  • Half a cup of ghee.
  • A quarter of a cup of bee honey.
  • Two cups of syrup.
  • Half a teaspoon of baking powder.
  • A pinch of salt.


How to make Basbousa and the secrets of its success?


Basbousa recipe is easy to make by using the previous ingredients and following the preparation steps:


1. Take a deep bowl and put the semolina flour and add melted ghee, preferably the pure one, and then mix them well.


2. Add milk, baking powder, and honey and mix lightly until the various ingredients are homogenized together and get the Basbousa mixture between light and dense mixture.


3. This method is distinguished for the rapid mixing of the ingredients, and it does not require constant stirring of the ingredients of our sweet.


  4. Grease a flat mold with a little oil or any greasy substance, then put the mixture in it and flatten it so that its thickness does not exceed 2 cm, and we work to balance its surface with a spoon.


 5. Put the Basbousa mixture to rest for about fifteen minutes before baking it in the oven.


Baking method:


1- Put the mold on the middle shelf of the oven at a medium temperature;  for thirty minutes, where we cook it from the bottom and make sure every period of time to ensure its maturity, then we cook the face from above until it takes a gold color,  


 2- When our Basbousa is cooked pour on it, and still hot, the cold syrup until it permeates well. 


3- Then cover the Basbousa to maintain its freshness.

 


Serving:


  • Cut your Basbousa into quadrat and garnish it with pistachios, coconut powder, or almonds to taste, and serve warm, or cold as a dessert after a meal. 
  • You may also eat your sweet accompanied by a cup of black tea.
